Paros & Antiparos as previously mentioned, are in the heart of the Cycladies.

Parikia is the main town of Paros, which is a major 'hub' for ferries, but due to the shallow waters between Paros and Antiparos, NO large day trip boats /cruise ships visit Antiparos.

However, you can buy day trip tickets from any of the small travel agents on Antiparos & Paros and visit some of the more 'famous' local islands like Shirley Valentines Mykonos 1 hour to the north, (with the historical Delos 'next door') or the worlds most photographed Greek Island of Santorini, which is 2 hours to the south.

Local boat trips round Antiparos are also GREAT fun (particularly if you like beach Bar-B-Q's & Ouzo!), also visiting the historic island Despotiko at the south of AP and maybe visit the cave en-route.

There are now 2 taxi's on Antiparos and a bus can take you to the cave in central Antiparos, which we are told is the deepest in Europe(?). Be warned! Lots of steps!

The friendly, yet private and intimate atmosphere of Antiparos is one of the reasons why the likes of Tom Hanks and his Greek wife (Rita Wilson) probably have a home here.

Although a very 'safe' and 'quiet' island, Antiparos can still offer a very vibrant night life for the 'teenager' in all of us if required!
